Essex North Shore is seeking a Public Relations Liaison to expand the visibility of the District. The Public Relations Liaison is responsible for social media management, press releases, media outreach and growing the District's positive public perception. The Public Relations Liaison implements and maintains internal and external communications efforts.

 

This is a part-time role, working approximately 20-hours per week. This position is benefits eligible. 

 

Bilingual prefered.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt.

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The Public Relations Liaison reports to the Superintendent-Director and Director of Technology or their designee. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Education/experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree with major course work in communication, public relations, marketing, graphic design and/or a related field
  2. Minimum of two or three years of experience in field
  3. Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Applications 
  4. Advanced technical writing skills with creative influences
  5. Ability to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines
  6. Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups
  7. Ability to adapt to and implement emerging technologies
  8. Possess problem solving skills and reasoning ability
  9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent-Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal law

DUTIES:

  1. Maintain, create, and approve the District’s social media content.
  2. Draft media advisory and press release content for the District.
  3. Cultivate relationships with industry partners in the print, digital and other media forums. 
  4. Create and review the District’s informational and marketing materials and publications. Ensure content is properly branded. 
  5. Monitor internet presence and reputation and provide a daily update to the Director of Technology. Communicate inappropriate content to the Director of Technology. 
  6. Maintain the District’s website, ensure it is ADA compliant, and is maintained with a DEI lens.
  7. Take photographs and videos of students, staff, events, and projects.
  8. Maintain the District’s collection of photographs and digital assets. 
  9. Provide professional learning opportunities for staff as it relates to the appropriate use of technology; including email, social media accounts both personal and professional. 
  10. Maintain electronic and letter board signage. 
  11. Attend off-hour meetings, events, and activities to gather information and media for publication and posting. 
  12. Attend conferences and workshops in the public relations field, as appropriate.
  13. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities not inconsistent with the role, as the Superintendent-Director, Director of Technology or their designee may assign.

 

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

This work is performed both indoors, and outside in inclement weather.  Work involves potential exposure to temperature extremes and noise.  Lifting, pushing and pulling equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally heavier is required; Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing stairs.  



TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. This is a 12 month position. 
  2. The nature of this position requires hours beyond the regular school day.  It is expected that the person filling this position will give priority to completing the necessary tasks and set hours accordingly, in collaboration with their supervisor.
